| deep groove）「真夜中の太陽は沈まず」という曲はクインシー・ジョーンズがライオネル・ハンプトン楽団のメンバーとして北欧を訪れた際に体験した白夜をイメージした曲である。曲名のカッコよさも有るが、私はこの曲をジョニー・ホッジスのアルトサックスで聴いたことが有るし、またクインシーのアルバム「ゴールデン・ボーイ」でも聴いていてとても好きな曲である。ただ、この曲を演奏するジャズメンは意外と少なく、いい演奏で聴きたいなとは思っていた。で、今回サラ・ヴォーンが歌ってくれるのである。サラの場合は真っ直ぐ歌わない、メロディの崩し方が独特で、原曲が分からないところまではいかないが、かなりである。でも、これまで聴いた「真夜中の・・・」では最も素敵な歌ではないだろうか。これはお勧め！追記：ライオネル・ハンプトン作曲の"Midnight Sun"という曲もあるが、コンセプトは同じでも違う曲である。 |
